Youth Mentorship
For young artists who need a more relational and intimate approach. We pair children and teens with professional artists, ideally two young people with one mentor, to make art in a flexible way. Mentorships are free for young artists and their families, thanks to donations.
For San Juan County residents. Sometimes it takes time to place a Mentee with the right professional artist.

Timing
Placement may take a few weeks
Mentorships depend on which artists are available, so we can’t always offer one. Sometimes it takes time to find a fit.
Is a mentorship right for you?
Some young artists need art in a way our classes don’t offer. A mentorship builds the time around them. Please note- this opportunity is limited. We will try our best to accomidate need.
A mentorship may fit if you
- Have access needs a group class can’t meet
- Have skills you want to push further
- Want to explore a medium we don’t teach
- Need a flexible schedule or a very small group
How it works
- Email mentorship@alchemyartcenter.com. Tell us about the young artist, what they want to explore and when they’re free.
- We will start looking for the right mentor.
- Your mentor completes a background check before you start. It protects our community, and it can take time.
