Alchemy Art Farm Capital Campaign
Help us build a permanent creative home on San Juan Island at the former Pelindaba Lavender Farm, a quarter mile from our Forest Campus.
A philanthropist bought the property for Alchemy’s use. We are raising funds to bring it into Alchemy’s ownership and finish renovating the Art Barn to meet local codes.
The Vision for the Art Farm
The Art Barn
- Shared studios for printmaking, textiles, 2D media, and glass
- Up to 15 artist studios and artist studio spaces
- A central gallery & immersive arts space and performance venue
- A recording studio, co working space, and 3 bedroom residency house
The Art Barn is a 14,000-square-foot building above lavender fields and orchards. The Alchemy Store, is open year round, selling lavender products and local art. Visitors are welcome to tour the studios & gallery, create art in our immersive arts space and learn about the art making processes offered.

Alchemy grew from a volunteer-run dream into a nonprofit serving islanders year-round. This is a once-in-a-generation chance to give the island’s creative life a permanent home, open to islanders of every age and to artists from around the world.
Creativity is a human right.
Alchemy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Grants and gifts of every size keep classes, studios and free programs open to everyone on the island. Tuition assistance is available for nearly all classes and all memberships.
