Located just uphill from the beloved former Pelindaba Lavender Gatehouse store, The Alchemy Store features many cherished lavender products infused with new energy and purpose. We invite you to join us as we bring fresh magic to the farm and offer something a little different, creative, and unexpected. The store is also a living gallery for our creative community, featuring work from over 50 local artists, from professional makers to first-time sellers (our youngest is 14!). From fine art to functional pieces, the collection spans ceramics, painting, fiber arts, woodworking, jewelry, and more.

Your purchase helps support our mission to expand access to the arts for our island community. Every purchase helps create opportunities for islanders of all ages to learn, create, and experience the arts.

THE FARM’S STORY

From Pelindaba to Alchemy: the lavender lives on

For over 20 years, the lavender fields at 45 Hawthorne Ln were home to Pelindaba Lavender Farm, one of the most beloved destinations on San Juan Island, known for its organic lavender, handcrafted products, and sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains.

When Pelindaba closed in 2024, a philanthropist devoted to this island's future purchased the property and invited Alchemy Art Center to steward it. We said yes.

Alchemy now grows, harvests, and distills lavender on the same 10 organic acres. Our production room continues making the handcrafted products the island has known for decades. And we've layered something new on top: a living creative campus where artists make work, residencies happen, and the community gathers all year long.

If you're looking for the San Juan Island lavender farm, you've found it.

All proceeds directly support Alchemy Art Center, a 501(c)(3) arts nonprofit located on San Juan Island in WA State.
