2025 Youth Mentorship Program

Does your child need access to art in a flexible way or in a very small group for any reason?

or are you a young person needing access to art in a way that doesn’t fit within our class offerings?

Kids may not fit into the traditional class structure because they have accessibility needs, have artistic precociousness or skills they want to further develop, have interest in a medium that we don’t offer, or other reasons.

Please reach out if you are interested in a mentorship. We will try to connect children and youth of any age with adult professional artists who can work with them. It is our preference that we pair two kids with an adult. If applicants have a buddy, we will be able to place them more easily.

Please expect up to one week before you receive a response and up to a month before we can place your child in a mentorship. We will review applicants on Mondays. The availability of this program is contingent on finding available professional artists to connect with children and youth, and is limited/not always available. Additionally, if we aren't able to fulfill the mentorship needs with our own staff, we will seek other community members. All mentors will have completed background checks. This is to protect our community, but can take time.

We are in the process of developing this program for 2025! Please sign up for our newsletter for an announcement in January with application information and more details.

This program is funded in part by the Community Foundation, the San Juan County Arts Council, and generous private donations.
